Beigbeder visits Varna
10 June, 2017
As a creative mind that effortlessly alternates between the roles of author, screenwriter and director, the now mature rebel of French literature Frederic Beigbeder is set to give a lecture on writing, life and love on 30 June in Varna. The event is part of the From Page to Stage project, which envisions a three-day workshop dedicated to writing for theatre and feature film productions. Beigbeder’s visit is organised in association with Colibri Publishers.
At the end of last year, the writer personally launched the 2016 edition of the CineLibri book and film festival in Sofia with his latest film L’Ideal (The Ideal).
On 1 July the author of iconic bestsellers such as 99 Francs and Love Lasts Three Years will present his body of work to a multitude of fans at the Ciela bookshop in Varna.
In relation to Beigbeder’s upcoming visit to the Black Sea port city, this year’s edition of the Sofia Mono festival included L’Ideal in its programme. The film is an adaptation of Beigbeder’s novel Au secours pardon (Help, Please) and was screened for the first time since its CineLibri premiere exclusively at Sofia Mono on 8 June. The event took place in the scenic Military Academy Park.
