Fake News Factory involves Peevski in privatisation
10 November, 2017
There is no deal in Bulgaria that happens without the involvement of Delyan Peevski. At least that is what the oligarchs who have been hurt by our revelations and who continuously attack our publisher with fake news items would like everyone to believe. Impossible, often bordering on phantasmagorical, sins are laid at Peevski’s door with the sole purpose of defaming him. The categories of fake news items employed range from construction business and public procurement orders to the Bulgarian State Railways, CorpBank loans, and even concerts by Russian performers. Naturally, there is no truth to all these claims, which can easily be disproven with documents. Such is the case with Peevski’s supposed involvement in privatisation deals.
The government’s initiative to go after the perpetrators of the fraudulent privatisation schemes with which former PM Ivan Kostov created the abovementioned oligarchs who now fund the Fake News Factory is making them extremely nervous and so they are trying to point a finger at Peevski. But even their most gullible readers are unlikely to fall for the talking point alleging that Peevski has something to do with the criminal privatisation during Kostov’s term in office, seeing as he was a carefree high school student at the time. This is why Miroslav Ivanov, the personal media representative of Tsvetan Vassilev, also known as the Bulgarian Madoff, was immediately instructed to spread the talking point that Peevski participated in privatisation deals as a lawmaker in opposition during Boyko Borisov’s first cabinet. We can already see the in-depth analysis of Capital’s and Mediapool’s favourite self-proclaimed financial expert being furiously disseminated by the Fake News Factory. Without a doubt, the impetus for spewing such lies comes from Belgrade, just as it is certain that, according to the visitor logs of the CorpBank headquarters’ security, Miroslav Ivanov was among the most frequent visitors of Tsvetan Vassilev’s office.
