Yanitsa Stoykova Yanitsa Stoykova is the Bulgarian winner of the 11th edition of the Juvenes Translatores translation contest organised by the European Commission. For the second time since 2012, the award goes to a student of the Asen Zlatarov Language High School in Veliko Tarnovo. Simona Hinova and Nadezhda Sadinova, students in the same school, won two of the eight special awards for Bulgarian translations of exceptional quality. With her translation from German to Bulgarian, Yanitsa beat out 75 other contestants in her age category from 17 secondary schools in Bulgaria to become one of the 28 winners - one for each EU Member State. The winners of the accolade for best young translator will be invited to a ceremony in Brussels on 10 April where they will be presented with their awards by Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources Gunther Oettinger. Over 3,300 students from across the European Union submitted translations commemorating the 60th anniversary of the bloc for this year's edition of the competition. They had a choice of 552 possible combinations between any two of the EU's 24 official languages.
